Metrotest’s AS/NZS 3551 Involvement

Metrotest has had a long involvement in training companies and individuals across New Zealand and Australia for several decades, beginning in the 2000s. Being one of the few training providers to cover the AS/NZS 3551, Metrotest has tried to create a course, from our experience that will help trainees and companies understand how to competently and correctly meet the standards requirements safely and cost-effectively.

Metrotest has offered online refresher training of the AS/NZS 3551 and now we want to make it more accessible and more easy than ever for companies and trainees to get trained.

Only those who have completed an initial AS/NZS 3760 competency test and tag course are able to take this course, so while we will cover over some generalized core concepts of testing, many things that you should already know will not be covered in detail here.

During this course, we will also be referring to the Metro iPAT and the Metrel Alpha PAT. We encourage you to follow along with your tester as you go through the course.

NOTE: Both of these testers are not designed for the purpose of medical testing but have been adjusted/modified to perform medical tests in accordance to Appendix B.
