Functional Testing AS/NZS3551 (B6.3.3)

Basic functional tests should include:

a) Device inputs
b) Device outputs
c) Alarms
d) Safety cut-out or protective functions

NOTE: In accordance with AS/NZS3551 B5.6 For serious failures the equipment supplier and relevant regulatory authority shall be advised

Patient Leakage Current Test Mains Applied

This test can’t be done with a PAT tester and isn’t a test you would normally need to perform. We just are mentioning it for your knowledge. If you want to perform this test you would normally need a medical grade PAT tester (not a PAT tester modified for medical testing).

 

This test is only performed on Type BF and CF only. It is required to be performed at after repairs as appropriate (B12.3)
As the name suggests it has mains applied to the patient-applied parts. This is done by means
of an isolation transformer.
