Medical Hoists

In this short demonstration you will see how to test a medical hoist. It’s important to note we aren’t in this case testing the hoist itself, we are checking the electrical component of it. There will be variations on medical hoists but the procedure for testing them stays relatively the same.

Remember to switch on the hoist during the necessary tests and make sure you have your wanderlead/crocodile clip attached to an exposed metal part.

NOTE

For Class II Appliance, it isn’t required to perform a Touch Leakage test, but for the purposes of reinforcement we are showing it as an added test within the video.
