  Yes. To enroll in Metrotest’s 3-phase training course, you must have first completed the AS/NZS 3760 initial training — either in person or online. The 3-phase course then builds on that foundation, covering the specific procedures, equipment, and compliance requirements for testing 3-phase appliances safely and confidently.

  As part of the course fee, you’ll be supplied with a 3-phase assessment kit for your online practical assessment — so you don’t need to own your own equipment to get started.

• What PAT tester do I need for 3-phase testing?

  You need a PAT tester that includes a 3-phase leakage function — standard single-phase testers are not suitable. Metrotest’s EasiPAT 10 ProKit 3-Phase is purpose-built for this, with the leakage test function built into the carry case. Connect the 3-phase appliance via a 5-pin supply lead and test in the same workflow as a single-phase unit.

  Note: you will need to supply your own 3-phase 5-pin extension lead. The ProKit pairs with the MET58L thermal printer for on-site label printing — no ink ribbons required.

• Is 3-phase test and tag the same standard as regular test and tag?
